Benching and Deadlifting

Today was probably one of the hardest workouts I have done in a while, it was hot, humid, and I was still sore as hell from Tuesday.

Close grip bench sort of deload
225 x 5 x 2 sets
255 x 5

Dips

Deads
455 x 5 x 3 sets
I was sweating so bad at this point I could barely hold onto the bar hook gripping it

Bent Over rows
185 x 5
225 x 5
255 x 5 x 2 sets was gonna do 3 sets but I was shot.

Paloff Presses
3 x 10 each side.

Great workout, deads are coming along but I have long ways to go before I am happy.

Sunday training

Fucking hot as hell out, today kind of sucked but it is what it is.

We all did the events for the USAWA Middle Antlantic Postal meet

2 DBs clean and push press
ended up with 160lbs or 80 each hand, couldn't clean more than this.

Hang Snatch
Got 155lbs which was a PR, almost had 160lbs

2 DBs Cheat Curl
ended up with 160lbs which was dissapointing

Bryan kicked our asses, only way to describe it.

Benching and Deadlifting

My upperbody workout sucked donkey nuts today. I think I pinched a nerve in my shoulder and it is not helping things.

Close grip bench

285 x I fucked up I was repping away and then realized it was only 265
285 x 2 x 2 I was mindfucked at this point, just simply pissed that I misloaded. In hindsight I should have just  kept repping away with the 265 and not worried about it.

Flat DB presses

315 x 5
375 x 5
425 x 5 x 3 sets
I am gonna try not to one all out set and just do multiple sets, I personally find this harder and it will give me more volume. Plus I don't tear my thumb nail off when I hook grip for lower reps.

Still a good workout, just didn't completely satisfy me. But I see good things on the horizon.

Tuesday Strict press and Squatting

Decided to take it easy on my pressing, so I figured strict presses would be a good idea. Haven't done them in forever so I was happy with how they went.

Not a bad night, luckily it had cooled down a little so I was sweating 5 gallons instead of 10.

Sunday training

I wasn't sure how Sunday would go, I woke after having some great sleep but was very tired when I woke up.

Axle clean and press

240 x my legs were just jello, not sure what was going on here decided to quit and live to press another day.

Did a bunch of DB work of different exercises.

Finally about noon, I started to wake up and decided to do some events.

Farmers Walks
210 each hand x 100 feet with a turn

260 each hand x 90 feet straight run

Super Yoke
620 x 60 feet not very fast but no setdowns, I haven't done yoke in forever so I couldn't complain

Overall not a bad day, good to know some of my strongman events haven't gone to complete crap.

Upperbody and back work

Not the greatest workout but not the worst I have ever had either. Being on vacation and sleeping ALOT equals great workouts, being back to work and not sleeping as much equals ok workouts. Take what you can get.

Shoulders and Squats.


Good day today, except for squatting but it still wasn't terrible.

Push Jerk, well as good as I can do it.

250 x 1 PR this was an actual jerk
260 x 1 has a slight pressout but I was happy to still get this as my press has been in the crapper for a while. My best press out of the rack ever is 280 so I am not far off, hopefully within in the next weeks I will be close to it.

135 x 5 x 3 sets should have done this for sets of 8-10

Squats
plan called for 300 x 1 x 6 sets I was a dumbass and didn't follow it.

Gonna go back to wearing a loose pair of briefs on heavier squats. I like squatting raw, but I hate hurting myself.

Rough day today, very good workout but I am wiped.

I am working on holding the DB differently, and I know it is gonna help me press more weight on this, but it sucks right now.

Upper body and Deadlifts great night.

Corey invited me to go do a training session at his gym. It is nice to get out of my element every now and then and I had a great time.

255 x 10 Very happy about this. Very unexpected.

so I was planning to do 450 for reps but things were actually feeling good.
500 x 3 Probably had 2-3 more in me but this was my goal. Pretty happy about this, wasn't sure my deadlift was moving along or not. Seems I am on the right track.

275 x 10 good pause on about 6 of them. Still a nice PR

Went outside and messed around with their biggest tire. Did a couple sets of 2 pretty easy tire for the most part, just had a hard grip on it.

Back at it.

Ok day of training today. Kind of jumped back into things today, but I think all the driving and sleeping in a shitty bed all week didn't help things. Still ok day now that I look back on it.

Axle clean and press
the plan was to do 10 singles, but 5 only happened.
215 x 1 x 5 sets these felt good but I needed to take too long of rest in between, mostly because I spent the whole week eating massive amounts of food and I hate the heat right now.

Practice some Cyr Press with lighter weights, gotta find the best way to hold the DB and I hate it.
